The deal between Hot Top 20 and every artist and label on the platform — in plain words.
1. Who can upload
Only the artist, or a representative the label has authorized, may upload a song.
By uploading, you certify that you own the song or control every right needed to upload it and grant the permission below. If that isn't true, don't upload it.
Real artists only: no AI artists and no AI vocals. A producer may use AI tools, but he still has to produce the song — a fully generated instrumental passed off as produced counts as an AI upload.
2. The permission you grant
You grant Hot Top 20 exclusive permission to add and play your song on hottop20.com: streaming it on the 24/7 Stage, placing it on the Local, Regional and National charts, and keeping it in the rotation while it is live on your profile.
Hot Top 20 may use the song, its cover art, and your artist name and profile on chart pages, song pages, share cards and in promotion of the platform.
Your consent is recorded with the upload — the date, the time, and the account that certified it.
3. What does not change
Your music stays yours. Uploading grants the permission above — it does not transfer ownership of your song, your masters or your publishing to Hot Top 20.
Chart position is earned on the 15-Point Scale and engagement — it is never sold and never promised.
4. Taking a song down
You can remove your song at any time from your dashboard. It leaves the rotation and the charts at the next midnight chart change.
If a song is found to break these terms — including the real-artists rule, or a rights claim that checks out — it is pulled from the Top 20 and the Top 100 immediately.
Uploading a song means you agreed to these terms. The consent checkbox on the Upload page is the signature.
